March 27, 2013 View Ridge Elementary

Today an inquisitive third grade classroom from View Ridge Elementary School had a fun time at the Market, learning through observation and inquiry. They watched a worker at Beechers slice and then turn over slabs of curd-like cheese and wondered why:

Later on they asked a vendor at Sosio’s Produce how long it takes to set up (2 and a half  hours!) and close up (20 minutes!). They also enjoyed some delicious plum samples:

It was a nice spring day, so one group visited the observation deck at the Inn at the Market for an incredible view of the Market and Elliot Bay:

As often happens, several students wanted to see the world famous Gum Wall at the end of the tour. We stopped by, a few contributed, and here they pointed out their additions:
