A wonderful group of third graders from Broadview-Thomson K-8 School visited the Market today, on a very cool and wet spring day. One of their first stops was upstairs at DiLaurentis, where Nicki described and demonstrated the process of making mozzarella cheese (it’s done by hand):
A short while later one group was amazed watching the work going on at Piroshky, Piroshky:
And they walked away with hands full of dough! (now what do we do with this?!)
Finally, the group visited Bottega Italiana, where they talked with Emily about the differences between ice cream and gelato. Then Emily waited patiently while they each made the very hard decision about what flavor to try for their sample (yum!):
