Nov 13, 2014 Holy Rosary

Today a very well prepared classroom of fourth graders from Holy Rosary School toured the Market. One group got a very interesting explanation and demonstration of making mozzarella cheese (by hand of course), from Michael, upstairs at DiLaurentis:

They continued in an Italian vein, over at Sotto Voce, sampling seasoned olive oils and vinegars:

A change of pace – and countries – brought the group to the  Perennial Tea Room, where Sue gave them samples, talked with them about how and where tea is grown, and showed them their amazingly hardy tea plant, still surviving outside, in below freezing temperatures at night:

The tour ended up with all groups coming together at the Pike Market Food Bank. They had organized a food drive back at school for the food bank, so they got to see where and how their donations were helping those in need:
