A wonderfully prepared classroom of 3rd graders from St. Alphonsus School had an exciting time at the Market today. As they started off on their tour, one group was surprised by the gift of a Market calendar by Michael Yeager at Seattle Watercolors:
Having brought food donations with them, they visited the Pike Market Food Bank, to see what it was like. Here, Larry showed them the big freezer:
A little bit later, they visited La Buona Tavola, where David taught them about where truffles come from – and gave them a taste of some truffle salt – yum! (we hear it’s great on popcorn):
They ended their tour at Rachel the Pig, where they donated some money (those dollar bills were hard to get in there):
