Feb 23, 2017 St. John School

St. John School second grader stood without fear, in front of the Monkfish at Pike Place Fish. Many were impressed. It was the start of an exciting day at the Market for his classroom.

One group had a special treat, visiting with Sue, at the Perennial Tea Room. After over 25 years, she is retiring. Sue has expanded the horizons of countless schoolchildren, simply by talking with them about tea. Below, she shows them an actual tea plant that has been growing right outside the store for several years. Thank you, Sue!

The highlight for some was definitely the chance to sit in the pig chair in the Market Senior Center Garden. Something special about that chair…

Another highlight from a separate group was a visit to Beecher’s Handmade Cheese. A favorite pick from a trio of samples was Beecher’s Signature Flagship. The boldness and nuttiness of the Flagship cheddar was an absolute flavor explosion for the tastebuds.
