Today a very well prepared and polite classroom of third graders from Highland Park Elementary School had a wonderful experience at the Market. Right after splitting up into smaller groups to explore, one group got some of the inside scoop on seafood – and a lot of entertainment – from Pike Place Fish:
On the other side of the street, some of them had some adventurous taste experiences at Sotto Voce, sampling flavored oils and vinegars:
A trip to the observation deck at the Inn at the Market provided a panoramic view of Elliot Bay, and an interesting view of a crane, working on the Market expansion:
Back down at street level, they truly enjoyed a taste sample from Ellenos Greek Yogurt:
At the end of their tour they were blown away by the demonstration of a “cut deck” put back together by Jonathan at the Magic Shop in the Market:
Meanwhile, another group had a great time trying out some chocolate lotion (!) at Indi Chocolate, where Becca also explained where chocolate comes from and how it is made:
