All three fourth grade classrooms from King’s Elementary toured the Market today! They split up into a morning and an afternoon group and managed to get about 75 students to the Market!
In the morning, after splitting up into smaller groups, one group of boys had fun listening to David tell the amazing story of truffles at La Buona Tavola. He offered them a smell of some black truffles:
They headed north just a few shops and stopped in at Sotto Voce for a sample of some nicely flavored olive oils – which they loved!
As the morning tour wound down, this group just HAD to touch the Gum Wall (or pretend to, we’re not really sure…)
The afternoon group started off, as all tours do, in the Market Classroom, where Linda got the big group ready to go, and matched everybody up with a tour leader:
One group of girls had fun in the Market Senior Center Garden looking for foods for their A-Z food scavenger hunt – and got to sign the garden pig:
They enjoyed a tasty dried apple sample at Simply the Best:
They ended up their afternoon with a special treat at Golden Age Collectables, where Steve led them on an unforgettable tour through comic books, Star Wars, supply and demand, Manga, and Godzilla defense! See the photos below, and be sure to check out Steve in action on our Videos page:
